Launched in January 2022, Lithuania Explained began as a YouTube channel meant to help foreigners adjust to life in Lithuania.

The YouTube channel took a little bit of a turn, and gained more interest when covering cultural, historical, and geopolitical topics rather than day-to-day, practical issues. This website is meant to fill that gap and include resources that foreigners may find helpful. This isn’t an official site from a tourism organization or government department – so while those sources are great at pointing out the positive things about Lithuania, we also hope to offer a more realistic view of being here, including any potential challenges you should be prepared for.
